Members of the Authors’ Council of Russian Authors’ Society took part in the ‘Doctor Jazz Party’ marathon

Saxophonist, President of the Authors’ Council of Russian Authors’ Society (RAO) Igor Butman and jazz pianist, member of the Authors’ Council of RAO Daniil Kramer took part in the ‘Doctor Jazz Party’ charity online marathon, which took place on April 30, the International Jazz Day.

The marathon was organized by Russia Today news agency, Krasny Kvadrat media group and Koktebel Jazz Party international jazz festival with the support of Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and the Coronavirus COVID-19 Alliance.

The event featured performances by musicians from different countries of the world: trumpeter Randy Brecker (USA), Trio Vahagn Hayrapetyan (Armenia), collectives Quintet Tachibana (Japan), The Rajeev Raja Combine (India), Jasmine and Her Jazz Men (China), The New York Latin Jazz All Stars (USA), Matthew Lee & His Band (Italy) and many others.

The marathon was streamed on the websites and social networks VKontakte accounts of ria.ru, the festival Koktebel Jazz Party, on the website стопкоронавирус.рф. #WeAreTogether is the official hashtag of the marathon.

The funds raised during the festival will be used to support Russian hospitals in the fight against the spread of the novel coronavirus COVID-19).

Koktebel Jazz Party was first held in 2003 as a private initiative of the founder of Koktebel jazz journalist Dmitry Kiselyov. A small Crimean village gave its name to the festival, which today is well known place among world jazz events.
