“The Future of Jazz” festival introduced new generation musicians

On November 26 – 28, in the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall the future stars of modern jazz performed on stage together with the world famous Moscow Jazz Orchestra conducted by maestro Igor Butman.

The International Festival “The Future of Jazz” is a unique and most youthful project of Igor Butman, Honored Artist of Russia. The peculiarity of the festival is that musicians who have never played together before take the stage.

Every year the Festival of Igor Butman presents new musicians to jazz lovers. This unique project presented to Moscow public Oleg Akkuratov, Evgeny Pobozhev, Fantini, Kate Davis, Francesco Cafiso, Evan Sherman, Mark Whitfield, A Bu, Russell Hall, Jake Labazzi, Julius Rodriguez, Philip Norris, Victoria Kaunova and many others. And talented young performers have the opportunity to perform as part of the National Russian Youth Jazz Orchestra, create their own musical bands and become successful at other festival venues. For example, Andrey Bataleev’s band became the winner of the student showcase competition at the “Jazz Across Borders” forum-fest last year.
