Russia will be represented by Igor Butman at International Jazz Day in Australia

Jazz saxophonist, People’s Artist of Russia, President of the Authors Council of the Russian Authors’ Society (RAO) Igor Butman will be the only Russian participant of the All-Star Global Concert of the International Jazz Day, which will be held this year in Melbourne, Australia.

The events will take place on April 29 and 30 and culminate with a gala concert at Hamer Hall of Arts Center Melbourne.

The concert will be broadcasted for viewers around the world via YouTube and Facebook services, as well as on the websites of the UN and UNESCO. American jazz pianist Herbie Hancock and Australian trumpet player James Morrison will be art co-directors of the show, American composer and pianist John Beasley will be the music director of the show. Artists from Australia, Brazil, Britain, Germany, Israel, Iran, China, Lebanon, Mexico, the Netherlands, the USA and Japan will also take part in the All-Star Concert.
