St. Petersburg will host one of the largest jazz conferences in Europe again

On November 15 and 16, the III International Forum Fest Jazz Across Borders (JAB) will be held as part of the VIII St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum.

JAB is the first and only professional platform in Russia for local and global jazz community representatives to meet.

The Forum Fest was first held at the VI St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum in 2017, and for the third year in a row provides Russian and foreign musicians with a unique opportunity to discuss issues of concern to the industry. During the two years of JAB, more than 2,000 amateurs and professionals in jazz industry from different regions of Russia and 35 foreign countries participated in it.

The strategic partner of JAB 2019 is Europe Jazz Network, the main European organization in the field of jazz and improvisational music, uniting European festivals, clubs, concert venues, independent promoters, national organizations. The leading speakers of the conference will be jazz industry professionals: Igor Butman, the Honored Artist of Russia, JAB author and founder, saxophonist and ambassador of Russian jazz art on the world stage; Til Brenner, Grammy nominee, trumpeter; Yan-Ule Otnés, Managing Director of Nasjonal Jazzscene, President of EJN; Christoph Huber, Porgy & Bess Club Artistic Director; Sunna Gannlaugs, Reykjavik Jazz Festival Director; Edin Zubchevich, Jazz Fest Sarajevo founder and curator of the Ljubljana Jazz Festival; Minnakaysa Kuyvalaynen, CEO of the Jazz Festival in Tamper; Don Lukoff, Head of DL Media and many others.

Business and educational programs, an exhibition of industry representatives, a showcase festival, a music program in jazz clubs and a gala concert are the main events of the Jazz Across Borders Forum Fest program.
